Emma Germann

Musician & Educator

Emma Germann is a musician and educator in the Chicagoland area. A graduate of Elmhurst University, Emma earned her degree in Music Education, along with a minor in Jazz Studies and a Classical Saxophone Performance Certificate.

Emma works with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra as the Assistant Director for the Debut Orchestra, along with serving as the saxophone specialist for Victor J. Andrew High School’s marching band. Emma maintains a studio of saxophone students in area middle and high schools, including Glenbard District 87, Elmhurst District 205, and Schaumburg District 54. As a Golden Apple Scholar, Emma is dedicated to providing equitable access to high-quality music education to student musicians of diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. She is the youngest member of the Educational Partnerships and Community Engagement committee for the DuPage Symphony Orchestra and has taught music abroad in both Montego Bay, Jamaica and Cape Town, South Africa. Highlights from Emma’s work as a freelance performer include performances with the Naperville Winds, DuPage Symphony Orchestra, Wheaton Municipal Band, Pete Ellman Big Band, Chicago Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, and more. She made her debut at Orchestra Hall in the spring of 2024 and will be making her Carnegie Hall debut in the summer of 2025.
